The Voyage to Eldravis

The Setting
You will all start the session on a boat sailing toward Caldris, after which the journey continues to Vyloria. You have been on this voyage for several days already. The established route of this vessel is: Neverwinter → Far Island in the ocean → Caldris → Vyloria.

Currently, the ship has left the ocean island behind and is navigating the waters between the island and Caldris. As you look out over the waves, please consider your character’s place in this journey.

Instructions
For most sections, please keep your responses to a single sentence where possible. This helps us move quickly through the initial setup.

Part I: The Journey

  1. Why is your character on this boat? (e.g., escaping a past, seeking fortune, transporting goods, etc.)
  2. What is your character’s primary motivation for visiting Caldris or Vyloria?

Part II: The Person & The Party

  1. Who is your character in your eyes? (A brief snapshot of their essence/identity).
  2. How does your character conduct themselves in social situations? (e.g., the charming diplomat, the brooding loner, the observant scholar).
  3. Does your character know any other characters in this group? If so, how? (Please limit to a maximum of two connections).
  4. What is one fear or deep-seated dread your character harbors?
  5. If your character could achieve one significant goal in the next few months, what would it be?

Part III: The Combatant & The Equipment

  1. What role do you want to embody during combat? (e.g., the frontline shield, the melee striker, the long-range artillery, the battlefield controller/support).
  2. What subclass do you currently intend to pick?
  3. Is there a specific type of weapon, armor, or magical effect (e.g., fire, illusion, healing) that you find most exciting or “cool” to use?
  4. Does your character currently possess any heirloom, trinket, or non-magical item that is deeply important to them?

Part IV: Character Snapshot (The Deep Dive)

Now that the technical details are out of the way, feel free to take a moment here. Please provide a brief summary (2–3 short paragraphs) regarding your character’s origin, their background, and any key events that shaped who they are today. This is where you can give me the “flavor” of your story.
